A sense of identity tends to be an important topic for immigrants. You may be thinking, "I don't quite feel like I belong in my home country anymore, but I also don't belong here". This can deeply impact our sense of self. Our sense of identity begins to form as children, but it never stops evolving. Together, we can explore questions such as "Who am I?" and "Who do I want to be?" that can give us a sense of what parts of our identity we're taking with us and what parts don't fit us any longer. We are made up of a multitude of parts, but sometimes certain parts are more prominent than others. Through counselling, we can work together to identify your parts and allow them time and space to be heard.Â
